About

Riverview Farming Pty Ltd

Riverview Farming Pty Ltd is owned and operated by the Storrier family who have been farming ‘Riverview’ at Hillston since the early 1870’s.

Hillston is a small country town in South West NSW and a great place to live a raise a family.

The business owners and operators are, Paul Storrier and his wife Carole, their eldest son Michael and his wife Stacey and their youngest daughter Jenny Cleton and her husband Paul. Michael and Stacey have 2 young farmers and Jenny and Paul have 3 young farmers who are 6th generation living and enjoying farming life.

Riverview Farming Pty Ltd annually grows irrigated cotton along with dryland and irrigated wheat and Shorthorn beef cattle, in the Hillston area on the Lachlan River. The Lachlan River provides a percentage of the irrigation water, along with bores.

Riverview Farming is passionate about carrying on the tradition of farming. Agriculture is a vital part of the lives of all people, whether it be through the food that they eat, of the clothing that they wear, and we want to make sure that these items are locally available for generations to come.

Each person within the business brings with them valuable skills and knowledge to help with the businesses success.

The family business operates through a board structure. It employs a business coach who also sit on the family business board to help them to look at the business from a different perspective, to challenge the thoughts and ideas of the individuals and to make them accountable for the jobs that they perform.

At Riverview Farming our vision is to create a harmonious, smooth running, high profit agribusiness, by converting our key resources into fibre & food, while enhancing our lifestyles and that of our employees.

We love farming because it’s part of who we are

Some of the benefits of living and working in agriculture are:

  • Lifestyle – sometime long hours outdoors in all temperatures, but always in the open fresh air and working with nature
  • Open spaces – feeling of freedom and room to move and enjoy
  • Family lifestyle – able to include all family members young and old in our farming practices. How many people can take their family to work with them every day and be outside in the fresh air, which is good for our health?
  • Passionate – about being part of the food and fibre industry
  • The challenges of Agriculture – working with/against environment and governments to produce food and fibre for Australian population and the world.
