Growing quality food and fibre
Growing Quality Cotton
During the summer we grow cotton, which is planted in late September when the soil and air temperature are on the increase. Our cotton is watered using four different systems of irrigation – bank less channels, siphons, pivots and lateral irrigator.
We harvest and freight our own cotton from April through to June, and we use a local picking contractor to help us complete our harvest in a timely manner.

Growing Quality Cereal
A Winter crop of wheat and other grains is grown on dryland, as rotation on cotton fields and irrigated under sprinkler irrigation (pivots and lateral).
We have a long-term harvest contractor that commences in November and harvests through December for us. We freight most of the grain ourselves, but also use a local freight company when needed.
Producing Quality Beef
Shorthorn beef cattle provide an income stream outside of growing crops. They are a very good breed for our climate, have a good temperament and are very well liked within the industry. Cattle provide an easy way to get the kids involved in the farming operation as operating tractors with GPS systems these days is very intense.

The Storrier family have been farming in the Hillston area for over 100 years and we are passionate to carry on this tradition.
